Printing a Wi-Fi code for guests

The password is stored in the code as plain text, so anyone who can scan it can read it. Put it where only guests will see it, such as a card in a guest room, and not on a public window. Match the security type to your router; most home networks use WPA, and choose open only for networks without a password. If you change your password later, the old printed code will stop connecting and you will need a new one.

Questions

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Recent versions of both join Wi-Fi from the camera app. Older phones may need a scanner app that supports Wi-Fi codes.

Is my password sent anywhere?

No. The code is built in your browser and the password never goes over the network.

My network name has a semicolon or a comma in it. Is that a problem?

No. Special characters are escaped for you, so the name and password come through as typed.
