Acceptable Use Policy

A printed code is a promise to the person who scans it. Do not point it somewhere that could hurt them.

What is not allowed

Do not point an OutlastQR code at:

  • Phishing pages that try to steal passwords, card numbers or other personal details.
  • Malware.
  • Unwanted software.
  • Scams and fraud.
  • Illegal content.

How we check destinations

We check every destination with Google Web Risk when you create a dynamic code and when you edit its destination. We also recheck destinations regularly, usually every week, within a monthly limit on how many checks we run. Links to known URL shorteners and to OutlastQR itself are not accepted.

What happens if a code is flagged

We disable the code, so a scan shows a notice instead of the destination. We email the owner with the reason and how to appeal. An admin may also disable a code after a report, and may disable an account that abuses the service.

How to report a code

Saw a code that leads somewhere harmful? Report it. We review every report.

Disabled codes are covered by the Continuity policy.
