Before you print

Dark on light scans best, so keep strong contrast and leave the quiet margin around the code alone. Use SVG for print because it stays sharp at any size, and PNG for slides and web pages. Always test the printed copy with two different phones before you order a run. If you add a logo, the code switches to the highest error correction so the scan still has room to recover.

Questions

Which file should I download?

SVG for anything printed, since it scales without blurring. Pick PNG at 1024 px or 2048 px for documents and screens, and 512 px for small web use.

What does error correction do?

It lets a scanner rebuild the code when part of it is scuffed or covered. Higher levels survive more damage but make the pattern denser. Medium is a good default; a logo forces the highest level.

Do these codes expire?

A static code has no expiry date. It keeps scanning as long as the print stays legible and whatever it points to still exists.
