Dynamic codes

Dynamic QR codes you can edit after printing

Print once, then change where the code points. Cancel your plan and the codes you already printed keep redirecting.

  1. 01

    Print once

The code holds a short address on our redirect domain, so the pattern never has to change.

  2. 02

    Edit any time

Fix a typo, swap a menu or move a page. Every printed copy follows the new destination.

  3. 03

    Cancel without panic

Printed codes keep redirecting to the last destination you saved. Editing pauses until you return.

Dynamic codes come with Pro: see plans. The free generator needs no account.

How a dynamic code works

The pattern you print holds a short web address on our redirect domain, not your destination. When someone scans it, we look up the current destination and send their phone there. Edit the destination in your dashboard and every printed copy follows. If you cancel, your codes stay on and keep redirecting to the last destination you saved; what you give up is editing, analytics and creating new codes until you come back.

Questions

Can I try dynamic codes today?

Not yet. Dynamic codes open with the paid launch. The free generator works now, and a static code you make today does not depend on us at all.

Why would a printed code ever stop scanning?

A dynamic code can be disabled for abuse, or if its destination is flagged as unsafe. Otherwise the main risks are physical: a damaged print, low contrast or a code printed too small.

Should I use a static code instead?

If the destination will never change, yes. A static code has no middleman. Choose dynamic when you may need to correct a link, swap a menu or move a page.
